We start by striving to understand your aspirations and lifestyle. We then take your ideas and
explore the options to turn them into reality. We explore the possibilities of design, form, and
function, with a detail to the interplay of space, light and material, coupled with context,
including sun paths, topography, views and relationship with nature.

We then bring it to life through our exceptional design, detail and drawing packages.

We understand that the real world is not 2D. We therefore design and showcase our work
using 3D software, exploring options to meet your brief and provide a range of ideas to achieve
your aspirations.

Contact us to discuss the key points about your project. This includes your aspirations and ideal outcome from the project. We can then arrange an initial consultation.

2. PROJECT BRIEF

We will create an initial project brief and identify possible constraints and
recommend a way forward. We will highlight the requirements and identify any other necessary consultants, in
addition to outlining an initial project programme.

3. FEE QUOTE AND TERMS

This will all be presented within an easy to read architectural services proposal and fee quote. Once you have signed and agreed our appointment on your exciting project, we can begin the design stage.

DESIGN

1. SURVEY

On smaller, simpler projects, we can undertake measured surveys of the building and immediate surroundings. On larger projects, we may need a full measured survey by a suitably qualified consultant.

2. EXISTING

We will compile existing architecture 2D and 3D drawings, ready for future submissions and to commence our concept design work.

3. CONCEPT DESIGN PROPOSALS

We will implement the client’s brief and begin to explore our ideas through the concept design stage. This will incorporate design, form, spatial functions and begin exploring materiality. Together with the client, we begin to work towards the preferred design option.

If necessary, a pre-application is submitted at this stage for a meeting with the local authority – this can be advantageous for certain projects on certain sites.

DETAIL

1. DETAILED DESIGN

Our client’s comments are welcomed to develop the scheme and refine the concept design, and to make sure that all of the elements of the agreed brief have been incorporated.

2. PLANNING APPLICATION

We can prepare the final drawings and documentation ready for submission via the planning portal. As the agent, we will also provide all necessary liaisons with the planning officer during the application.

3. TECHNICAL DESIGN + BUILDING REGULATIONS

Usually, once planning has been granted, we can help select the construction method and inform you of the process and procurement options for constructing your project.
We will complete the construction technical drawings, consisting of detailed plans, elevations, sections, construction details and schematic services plans. We will also complete the construction specifications and we can produce further schedules or internal details as extra services.
You will likely need other consultants at this stage, and if appointed, we can assist in getting quotes and your appointment with them, to secure building regulations approval.
